Home-produced cards just don't wear in fact. The ink isn't fixed (so it will fade, actually worse conduct!) and the card will become tatty very quickly. The cost of commercial printing has truly come over the past few years, and with digital printing you perhaps anywhere from the local couple of hundred to many thousand cards printed at really affordable cost, usually in some days.
